  • Older travelers

    Convenient near city location.

The building was tatty externally, interior was better. We had contracted for a twin room and were delivered a single bed and sofa bed that had to be made up.There was a micro wave oven though no utensils to use it, there was no toaster or teatowel (health issue). There was only one mug supplied and only the bear minimum of refreshment, coffee four sachets though only two tea bags. Lighting was poor only one low wattage lamp and no table or chairs. In other words it was smaller and much more poorly equipped than the average Caravan Park Cabin.

Value for money, cleanliness and amenities available. However, the shared toilet is a hassle.

    Shared toilet.

  • Couple

Good size room with shower in room. Also microwave oven and fridge good for self-catering possibilities. Shared toilet was cleaned daily. I would recommend this hotel as very good value for money.

  • Couple

My partner and I loved the design of the room and the excellent quality for the money we paid. It was comfy and well worth it.

The only thing we could find to complane about was the loudness of the cleaners, if you were at the hotel when they came in there was no way you could relax, they were really loud, not just the banging around but they shouted and at one point screamed. They left their cleaning products everywhere and tried to enter the bathroom without knocking even though the shower was obviously on and the door locked. Also I didn't recieve the information via txt so had to ring the guest line.

Room was clean, furnishings were new and the widescreen TV was great.

The bed in the room I stayed in did not have a proper mattress. It was more like a folding out sofa, was hard and lumpy and I did not sleep well at all. it ruined what would otherwise have been an acceptable stay.

  • Couple

All problems (unacceptable room at 298B, no light in second room) were solved in the end. Double room at 298 was nice.

The rooms at 298a and b are of low quality: the single bed is repaired with a piece of wood, matrasses are old and dirty and uncomfortable, rooms are small, shower was leaking and the building seems to be made from tinfoil. The high quality finishing in these rooms makes it look nicer but doesn't change the fact that these rooms aren't worth to be rented out. Rooms in the main building are much better, although they seem to saved money on the matresses again.

  • Family with children

Free parking & wifi included with an already ridiculasly low price.

  • Group of friends

Couldn't beleive I was in the right place, for what I paid I expected a slum, this it certainly was not. The owner has an eye for a neice market.

  • Family with children

No contact with staff but the service via email/text was efficient. The facilities were clean tidy and convinient with good off street parking.

Slight niggle due to lack of shaver point in bathrooms.

It was very local to the station so brilliant, did not receive informative tex on day of arrival however, our call was quickly answered and dealt with. It was exactly how stated and the communal bathroom was much better than expected, i would definately recommend, cleaning staff were friendly and polite in the morning when we were running a little late, thankyou

My son slept on the couch and said uncomfortable...however he is 16 and am unsure as to whether it was simply attitude?! The television did not move directions so we sat sidewards against wall to view,, all in all a good experience

  • Family with children

The studio flat and whole house stunk of damp. It had a open shower stuck in between the double bed and kitchen with no privacy. No toilet. The bed settee for the third person is too small for an adult/ teenager definitely not Suitable for Families with older children or 3 adults as booked. Very basic. Could not stay there in the end because it was that bad and had to re-book elsewhere

The customer service is Non-Existence and Too Poor for words. The manager (Ms Sharp) lied to us and insulted our intelligence by blatantly telling staff she not available which we could hear. Don't stay here unless you are a backpacker looking for a cheap, basic room and use to sharing toilets.

The kitchen facilities were good (microwave and sink - loads of cupboard space!) and my room was sunny with a large window that fully opened - a real bonus! En suite would have been nice, but I guess unrealistic at this price - but the bathrooms were good and at the end of the day I prefer to have kitchen facilities. I think I was lucky with the room - others apparantly were darker. The location is great for the railway station, especially if you've got heavy luggage; it's a bit further into the town centre but there is a footpath along a disused railway - look for the blue cycle route sign behind the railway station - I'm guessing it's a 20 to 25 minute walk, but there's also a bus service.

Getting in was a nightmare. The reservation pin numbers given were irrelevant and I managed to miss anything that said check in would only be available at 2pm. A group of us arrived at 1pm and no on could work out how to get in; different guests were wrestling with the main door and room pin pads all afternoon. However, although there are no on-site staff the phone help service was good - don't forget the phone number on the reservation when you arrive! In terms of comfort, the bed was dreadful - I could feel every bit of metalwork in the mattress; on the second night I turned it over when it became slightly more bearable. I'm not being Princess and the Pea about this - it was awful. I told a staff member so hopefully they've dealt with it. I would recommend this hotel if the bed's been changed and the entry is made clearer.

  • Family with children

Very noisy when people are coming through corridor and you can hear other peoples tellys on in other rooms!

  • Single

Well priced and a good location.

Although staff were quick to pass the message on to the cleaners that one of the two showers was blocked and smelly, the cleaners weren't able to improve the situation.

  • Family with children

    Clean and basic

Sharing bathrooms, appliances not very well maintained, very noisy
